Aspiring to a slower, more thoughtful way of life

Mabel Green Studio began with a simple idea: that reuse and comfort can sit beautifully together. Louise has been sewing since childhood, and over time that early instinct grew into a shared commitment to thoughtful design, careful construction and making things with genuine intention.

After many years working in customer service, Louise learned how much clarity and kindness shape the way we experience the world — and the things we choose to bring into it. That’s why every piece we create is slow‑made, practical and designed with purpose.

Whether it’s a washbag stitched from repurposed textiles or a FeliFeed® or CaniFeed® Collar created to support a recovering pet, we believe small details make a meaningful difference. Our studio is a place where comfort meets purpose, and where every stitch tells a story.

Rooted in reuse, shaped with intention

Our washbags reflect the heart of our studio practice — thoughtful design, slow‑made construction and a commitment to working with repurposed, reclaimed and carefully sourced textiles. We choose materials for their character, durability and the stories they carry, bringing comfort and practicality together in a contemporary, considered way.

Every piece we make is designed to be lived with: tactile, functional and created with purpose. These washbags are a clear example of how reuse can feel refined, and how small details can make a meaningful difference.

Please note: This comparison table serves as a general guideline based on our own independent research into common high-street luxury travel pouches and mass-manufactured textile standards.

Hello

We’re Mabel Green Studio — founded by Louise Sleigh and rooted in a slow‑made, textile‑led approach to reworked and handmade lifestyle pieces. Our home studio in Manchester is where every item begins, shaped by repurposed, reclaimed and carefully sourced textiles chosen for their character, quality and everyday practicality.

Alongside is our vintage Bernina 1130 — a machine built for precision. It produces consistently clean, accurate stitching across everything from crisp cottons to softer, finer fabrics, and it’s become an essential part of our studio practice.

Our Vintage, Pre‑Loved & Reworked Philosophy

At Mabel Green Studio, we believe in giving beautifully made pieces a considered second life. Each vintage, pre‑loved or reworked garment is chosen for its quality, construction and character — the kind of work that deserves to be preserved, not discarded.

Our philosophy ensures that garments and accessories which might otherwise be lost to time are treated with respect; we honour the materials, the makers and the stories they carry. Some pieces are carefully revived in their original form; others are thoughtfully redesigned and reimagined into contemporary silhouettes that allow the fabric to live on in a new way.

Only items that meet our standards for condition, authenticity and longevity are selected for our curated collection.

Each piece reflects our commitment to slow fashion, responsible making and the understated beauty of extending a garment’s life with intention.
