It began with a simple idea: to create something gentle, practical, and comforting for cats and dogs recovering from feeding tube procedures. What started as a moment of deep personal grief became a quiet motivation—and with guidance from the Manchester Cat Clinic, the first FeliFeed® Support Collar took shape.
As the design matured, one truth became clear: the same principles of softness, security, and anatomical ease were desperately needed for dogs. This led to the development of the CaniFeed® Support Collar range, expanding our mission to provide specialised, reliable recovery care for canine patients.
Designed for Dignity and Ease
The FeliFeed® Support Collar is crafted to keep an oesophagostomy tube (O-tube) securely positioned throughout recovery. It offers a soft, lightweight, adjustable solution that simplifies home care, keeping cats and smaller dog breeds stress-free.
The CaniFeed® Support Collar brings this same protective intention to larger dogs, utilising a structured, dual‑Velcro® fastening system to provide steady protection without limiting natural movement.
Across both ranges, every detail is shaped around animal well‑being. While our signature patterns are designed to make a difficult moment a little less gloomy for the humans involved, the structure focuses entirely on what the patient needs: comfort, freedom of movement, and reduced anxiety. Our collars intentionally step away from a stark "medical" aesthetic, focusing instead on intuitive canine and feline behaviour.

Why the FeliFeed® Range Features Our Signature Soft-Padding
Our FeliFeed® (XP to Large) range is specifically crafted with premium, lightweight fabric and hypo-allergenic padding rather than heavy-duty, rigid materials. Feline patients and short-necked dog breeds have distinct anatomical and sensory needs during medical recovery:

Sensory Comfort & Stress Reduction: Cats are highly sensitive to stiff materials and noises near their ears. Our ultra-soft fabric contours gently to their neck, minimizing friction and sound so your patient or pet can rest calmly without sensory distress.

Anatomical Flexibility: Cats need to curl up tightly to sleep and heal. The FeliFeed® padding provides maximum stability to secure the O-tube, yet yields gently when they nest, ensuring their natural sleeping positions aren't disrupted.

Dual-Use for Short-Necked Breeds: This soft-flex design makes the Large FeliFeed® collar uniquely suited for toy dog breeds and brachycephalic dogs with very short neck spans (like French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Staffies). It compresses comfortably under the jawline when they lower their heads to eat or drink, preventing the airway compression or jaw-jamming common with wider, rigid collars. The depth, or profile width of the large FeliFeed collar is approximately 5-6 cm so if you require a larger profile, we can make a custom size.
Tailored Canine Support: Fabric & Waterproof Options
For medium and large dogs, our standard CaniFeed® collars feature a comfortable, durable fabric build that provides excellent daily support during indoor recovery.
However, for our extra-large and giant sizes (XL and XXL—engineered for breeds like Greyhounds, Rottweilers, and Great Danes), we offer a specialised heavy-duty, waterproof option to solve specific giant-breed challenges:

Supervised Outdoor Walks: If approved by your veterinary team, the waterproof version is ideal for dogs allowed outside on short, supervised rehabilitation walks, shielding the stoma site from the elements.

Advanced Moisture Management: Larger dogs are highly prone to getting their collars wet from drool or deep water bowls. Our wipe-clean, waterproof option prevents body fluids, rain, or spilled liquid food from soaking into the support core, keeping the skin dry and healthy.

Orthopedic Neck Support: Giant breeds require highly structured cervical support to keep their silicone feeding tubes from kinking. The robust 10 cm profile width beautifully anchors the tube and distributes weight evenly across long, powerful neck columns without shifting.
⚠️ Safety Note for Feline Carers: Because all of our medical support collars are securely fastened and non-breakaway to keep the feeding tube perfectly stable, cats recovering with a FeliFeed® collar must always stay strictly indoors.
Our Craft Commitment
Each collar is individually produced in our Manchester studio using end of line, repurposed, or locally sourced textiles that are soft, washable/wipe-clean, and kind to sensitive skin. The thoughtful designs offer a warmer, comforting alternative to standard clinical aids, bringing a sense of calm to the home while maintaining practical clarity for carers.
Although the fabrics and materials vary by size and breed requirement, our purpose remains constant: thoughtful, dignified support during recovery.

Why These Collars Are Different
Most feeding‑tube collars on the market fall into one of two categories:
• slim, medical‑style devices made from synthetic foams
• flat fabric bands with minimal shaping
Both can feel rigid, narrow, or uneven against the neck — especially for sensitive or anxious pets.
FeliFeed® and CaniFeed® collars take a different approach. Just as important is the fabric itself. Every collar is made using locally sourced and repurposed textiles, chosen for their breathability, softness, and low‑impact footprint. By working with upcycled materials and trusted local suppliers, the collars avoid the harsh synthetics common in mass‑produced alternatives while reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable studio practice.
The combination of gentle structure, thoughtful shaping, and responsible material choices helps pets relax, rest, and heal more naturally — whether they’re recovering from surgery or simply need a little extra reassurance at home.

FeliFeed® and CaniFeed® support collars can remain in place during chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other veterinary procedures, offering gentle support without interfering with treatment.
Even when a collar isn’t medically required, many pets — especially those prone to stress — find comfort in the soft, secure fit; it's like wearing a neck cushion! Because the neck is such a sensitive, vulnerable area, the padded design can help anxious pets feel more grounded, particularly in busy households with children, other animals, or unfamiliar visitors.

FeliFeed® and CaniFeed® collars were created to make recovery a little easier — for pets and for the people caring for them. What began as a practical solution for a single patient has grown into a reliable, clinically informed product now used by veterinary teams and carers.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: These are non‑breakaway collars, designed for indoor or supervised use only.
🐾 CATS must remain indoors while a feeding tube is in place, but the collar can also be used in other situations — for example, to support anxious cats during periods of stress. Because the collar fastens with Velcro and lacks an automatic breakaway mechanism, any outdoor access must be fully supervised at all times.
🐾 DOGS The XL and XXL CaniFeed® support collars are designed for medium to large dog breeds and may be worn outdoors with your veterinarian’s approval. We also offer a waterproof version, ideal for outdoor activities; it can be wiped clean with pet‑safe disinfecting wipes or a simple water‑and‑white‑vinegar solution, which disinfects effectively without damaging the material or leaving harsh residues.

Suki’s Legacy
Finding Purpose Through Love and Loss
When our beloved cat Suki passed away in his old age, it left a space in our home — and in our routines. A chance meeting with Manchester Cat Clinic soon after offered an unexpected sense of direction.
Supporting other poorly pets and their carers through thoughtful design became a meaningful way to honour the many years we shared with him. His presence continues to shape the collar — guided not only by practical needs but also by a deep respect for feline comfort and emotional well-being.
Our own cats, Chester and Mouse (see photos above), are registered with Manchester Cat Clinic — a team we trust for expert feline care.
